Call your SPCA they do foster care with kittens. You get to take home a family of kittens and they supply you with the animals that means food and what they need. go to petfinder.com and locate a shelter close by to where you live. call that shelter and see if they would accept you as a foster home.
in england you can register with a rescue cenre .sometimes with a dog warden. you then look after the pet until it is rehomed. look under rescue centres

You adopt them from a shelter. Or you take care of them like their mother would.
Usually a shelter will have some sort of program to hook you up with.. you'd be doing them a HUGE favor! You'd help reduce the number of cats that end up euthanized and you'd be helping to get them into happy homes! I volunteer in a cat shelter in PETsMART and we're always looking for foster care providers. You could find a shelter in your area on petfinder.org or through Google probably!
