As a single parent to 1 child am i entitled to housing benefit?

i am due to start back work from maternity leave amd am going to be working 16 hours a week.As a single parent to 1 child am i entitled to housing benefit?
It all depends upon income.

If your income falls below a certain level for a single parent and one child, there may be benefits.

First, however, they will want the childs father to be paying child support. That support will be figured in to the total income.

If the father is not supporting the child, you will not be able to get subsidized housing until he is paying. I suggest you go to family court and get an order for child support from ';dad'; and have the money taken from his paycheck weekly or bimonthly or whatever. Once that is done, you can then apply. They will total your income and the child support amount and make a decision.

It isn't the taxpayers responsibility to support you and your child. Subsidized housing is supported by taxpayers funds. As a single parent to 1 child am i entitled to housing benefit?
If your income is below poverty level, then yes you can apply for housing benefits. I had my son, and I was a singler mother, and was able to get low cost housing for him and myself, they just went by how much money I made.
