Have you ever suspected your teen of doing drugs? Did you do an at home drug test?
Did you ever suspect your teen of doing drugs because you found out for sure that basically the entire group was smoking pot and more? What did you do?
Have you used an at home drug testing kit?As a parent, what do you think of having your child drug tested?
My really good friends went through something similiar. Except they took there teen to a lab to see. It was a battle struggle, but it was in the best interest for the teen. I personally used to work in a drug rehab, and I can tell you that if most the friends are doing it, there is a high chance that your teen may have either tried it or is doing it. If you don't trust your teen go for it. The home drug test work okay. They give you results quickly. Unless it is one that wants you to send it to a lab, if that is the case, take your teen to the dr. and tell them what you think and they can order the lab to do one. Then it may be covered by your insurance. Good luck.As a parent, what do you think of having your child drug tested?
Yes if there living in my home I go through bags rooms books and I drug test. Don't care what you might think it is MY HOME and when they can move out they can ruin there life the way they like.
As the mother of two teenagers, knowing you have the ability to use this strategy is a relief. But first ask your child straight up. Let them know you are concerned and why. Listen to what they have to say. Tell them this is an option you are considering.
If you need to know..........test. The tests are reliable. Be prepared for a result you don't like. Know you then have to act on the result. So have a reasonable and planned strategy ready. This strategy has to be fair, clear, and with positive and negative consequences. Good luck, love them lots, and give lots of hugs and kisses...........
Remeber before yo do anything what it was like to be a teenager. You will most likely alienate your child from you by testing them without talking to them about it first. Almost every kid at least tries drugs and alcohol, which isn't good, but it isn't abnormal, and I think unless you suspect your child of having a serious problem (you notice their grades slipping etc) you should be able to ask them honestly. If you raised your kids right, you should be able to talk to them and trust them to do the right thing.
Just because their friends are doing it doesn't mean they are, have faith in your kids.
well i dont think thats the way to go. i used one once and my kid was angry i didnt trust him and it had a weird side effect... go to a doctor for that
My oldest was smoking pot. I busted him on it. He lied about it until i found his pipe and stash. I promptly called the cops and turne dhim over to them. Every time I found a pipe or stash I burnt it. I always told him no tin my house and I meant it. If he wanted when he was 18 to do it in his own home that was his choice. my home no though. My other two teens thankfully are in sadd and wydfy in their school. the latter test students at random for drugs and gives them a special ID card that gives them many discounts in the community businesses. I would buy the test. offer them the ';opportunity to take it and tell them a test failure or refusal is grounds for them being taken to counseling and or a treatment program.
i haven't used a home test but if i suspected i would sit my child down and talk and pay alot of attention to who their friends are. If i was not satisfied after our talk then i would persue a home test.
