Wayne Z is correct, as I checked into it when my oldest started college. What it the age limit a parent can claim there child on there income taxes as a dependent?
Non-student and income over $3400: 19

Student and income over $3400: 24

Non-student and income under $3400: No Age Limit.
As a qualifying relative, there is no age limit. But the income test of $3400 usually prevents the claim.

As a qualifying child, it depends.

under 19 can qualify.

under 24 and still in school can qualify.

any age and permanently and totally disabled can qualify.

Other tests must be met of course, such as child lived with parents for more than 6 months and did not support themselves.
I believe they have to be a full time student and under the age of 25. Unless they have some kind of disability.
