Is there a word for the act of a child taking on the trade of their parent, generally from a father to son?

I'm not looking for answer like ';it's called a family trade'; or things like that. I'm looking for a specific word that I don't know because it's rarely used. Thanks! Is there a word for the act of a child taking on the trade of their parent, generally from a father to son?
