So, I watch a one year old during the day. Her mom takes pretty good care of her. The main concern I have is..She NEEDS to be bathed more often!..I am a very nice person, yet I have no problem saying something to her, I am just not sure how to say it without offending her, any ideas?..Remember I am nice, so being blunt won't be natural for me.
:)
Thanks for your helpDoes anybody babysit kids that had to ask the parent an awkard question?
I am a SAHM and I babysit during the day, so yeah I know what you mean. Depending on what is making you think that she needs a bath more often....smelly, dirty hands/face, sick, or whatever. Just mention the particular reason or simply ask if it is o.k.if you bathe her during the day if she gets messy. Not that you need to do that, but it might make the mom think....Does anybody babysit kids that had to ask the parent an awkard question?
You can always ask if they have any objections to you giving her a bath because sometimes you notice that she's a little messy.
I know that you want to be nice, but bottom line, if it's that's noticeable then you might need to be a bit more direct. If the child isn't been bathed on a regular basis she isn't being cared for by her parents properly.
I am a home daycare provider. I have had it happen that a child seemed to be in need of a bath at times. Know how I handled it? I gave the child a bath myself and then told the mom,';He got really messy when we ate spaghetti so I gave hima bath. He's all clean now!';
I say it in a cheery, happy voice and they never suspect any different.
maybe say something like,';did she get into something before I came here? she seemed really dirty so i gave her a bath'; maybe they'll get the hint.
