Walmart did infact pierce my daughters upper ear with her 18 year old cousin signing, if walmart had asked for ID then they would have known she was not a legal gaurdian or parent. Walmart agrees that they were in the wrong, does anyone have any sugestions on how I should handle this. Can Walmart pierce a 12 year olds ears without legal gardian or parent present?
In regards to how to handle this:

Would suggest you deal with it with your daughter and her cousin. Wal-Mrat agrees that they were wrong and you can bet the employee who screwed up is in some serious hot water, would let it go at that. This country doesn't need another frivalous, over-reactionary lawsuit - which is what it would be if you chose to sue. The holes will fill in, just don't let her put ear-rings in them. As far as discipline, you know what's best for your child. Can Walmart pierce a 12 year olds ears without legal gardian or parent present?
NO, and i wouldn't allow someone to be pierced with a gun anyway. The gun causes trama to the ear and an extensive healing time. I think piercing with a needle is much better for the body and less tramatic. I liken using gun v needle to using a hole punch or a needle on a piece of paper. The gun is actually punching out a hole in your skin which is why it burns and stings so much after. A needle only pinches while it is passing and there is little to know pain after.

I would contact the APA. They have avenues in which you can go through to report illegal and unsafe piercing practices
no no
give your 12 y.o a healthy whipping and her 18 y.o a good *** kicking
Take the earing out and the hole will heal. Ground the kid. Tell her she is not allowed back in Walmart without you until she is 18.
the answer is no. you cannot do anything like that untill she is 18 or has a legal guardian present.. since they are statewide... they should ask for id for the reason of being sued.

regardless they should card id... its their job to do so.. if not then they have to pay the consequences...
NO, THEIR NOT SUPPOSE TO UNLESS THE GUARDIAN IS PRESENT! IN FACT THEIR SUPPOSE TO ASK FOR A PICTURE ID!! SO, IF I WERE YOU I'D GET A LAWYER CAUSE YOU HAVE A CASE I MEAN IF THAT'S WHAT YA WANT TO DO!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!
Definitely check into this one because they are in the wrong for 2 reasons: Gun piercing is unhygenic and one can contract Hepatitis B or C. Any professional piercer will tell you this because it is impossible to sterilize a piercing gun effectively.

The other big reason is obviously a legal guardian did not sign the okay on piercing your daughters ear. Maybe contact a lawyer???
The first mistake was getting ears pierced at Wal-Mart. I'm sure they used a piercing gun which means that the person doing it had about 15 minutes of training and doesn't know what to do after the ear is pierced. Second, they broke the law by not asking for ID from both persons. Anyone getting pierced must be asked for ID no matter how old they look. If you really want to make a big deal out of it, hire a lawyer. I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers out there that would jump on this quick. It is Wal-Mart after all.
no.. she is a minor and she cannot be subject to any form of body piercing without a parent present !
Your child is probably lying. They could have done it themselves and don't want to get in trouble for it.I'd let it go;Pick your battles carefully.
No, unless they wanna be fired and have to take this matter to court
I don't think so, If she is a minor then the answer is probability no.
they are not supposed to unless it is legal in the state or country that you live in. it is legal in canada. but otherwise I know in washington state it is illegal and i would persue the person who did the piercing. take it up with walmart they should have asked for proof of them being the parent of the child like a birth certificate or something.
