I possibly have some very large and painful cysts on my left ovary. I a having an ultrasound done to detect them if they are there or see what is causing this pain. My LMP was 3/17/2006 and my dr. said it was imperative to have this done since im not preg. i have other personal appts without my parents there or even with their consent, so do they need to go to this?Does an almost 18 year old have to have a parent go with them to have an ultrasound to detect ovarian cysts?
Nope but the ultra sound is uncomfortable because they make you drink a great deal of water and hold it for what seems like ever then press on your belly. It might be good to have someone there to distract you. I didn't when I had the test and it was annoying but I made it through it.
Good luck and God bless. I know how hard that is.Does an almost 18 year old have to have a parent go with them to have an ultrasound to detect ovarian cysts?
I believe so because most state laws say you must be 18 yrs old exactly
NO! You can go alone. You are over 16, which is the age of consent (in Canada anyway) so as far as i know, you don't need them with you. If you do, that sux!
No, unless you want them in there with you for support.
It's better to have a second opinion
No, although many doctors and friends would recommend it simply for the emotional support. It's really your choice as to whether or not they go. Good luck!
